Limit purchases over $1,000

Limits checkout when the cart subtotal amount is $1,000 or more. When the subtotal of products in the cart reaches $1,000 or more, customers see an alert at checkout and cannot complete the order.

  1. Create new rule → Click “Create New Rule” button
  2. Configure basic information
    • Title (example): “Maximum order amount less than $1,000”
    • Alert message (example): “Please place orders under $1,000”

Enter the following in the condition settings screen:

  • Condition 1
    • Condition type: Cart subtotal amount
    • Operator: greater than or equal to
    • Value: 1,000
    • Product Scope: All products in cart

What this means: Because this recipe uses the “Cart subtotal amount” condition, checkout is blocked once the product subtotal, or discounts—is $1,000 or more. If you need to evaluate the final amount after adjustments, use the “Cart total amount” condition instead.

  1. Save rule → After entering all settings, save the rule
  2. Activate → Click “Set active” button to start the limits
  • Prevent fraudulent orders - Block abnormally high-value orders in advance
  • Inventory management - Prevent inventory depletion from bulk purchases
  • Avoid payment risks - Prevent problems with high-value payments
  • Stabilize operations - Avoid dealing with unexpected large orders
